Eligibility and Process of Admission
The eligibility criteria for various PG programmes is given below:
Master's degree in Engineering/Technology or Master's degree in Science/Humanities or equivalent discipline with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or equivalent, as determined by IIT Delhi or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/Semesters) OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent discipline with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 7.00 on a 10-point scale or equivalent, as determined by IIT Delhi or 70% marks in aggregate (of all the years/Semesters).
Bachelor's degree with a minimum grade point average of 5.50 on 10 point scale as determined by IIT Delhi or 55% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters). For M.Sc. Chemistry, Chemistry as a subject during three years of Bachelor’s degree and Mathematics at School (10+2) level is required. For M.Sc. Mathematics, Mathematics as a subject for atleast two years in Bachelor Degree is required. For M.Sc. Physics, Physics as a subject for three years and Mathematics as a subject for atleast one year at Bachelor’s level is required. Candidates with qualifying degree from one of the Universities/ Institutions in India are expected to qualify JAM.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of minimum three years duration with 60% Marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10- point scale for MBA. For M.B.A. (with focus on Telecom Systems Management/ Technology Management), Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy/B.Sc. Agriculture Engineering (Minimum 4 years after 10+2) or Master's degree in any branch of Physical /Chemical /Mathematical Sciences like Physics/Chemistry /Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Application/Electronics Science/ Environmental Science/Operations Research /Computation/Information Science/Agriculture or Master's Degree in Commerce/Economics with 60% Marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) of 6.00 CGPA on a 10- point scale. For admission of International Students to full time M.B.A. programmes, GMAT/CAT score is also required.
For admission to the above programmes* (PhD/MSR/MTech/MBA) on part-time basis, relevant work experience is also required.
For Eligibility of Undergraduate programmes refer to JEE Advanced
* M.Des. and M.Sc. programmes are not available on part-time basis
Candidates holding foreign passports (including persons with OCI or PIO cards) are eligible to apply for admission to PG programmes as foreign candidates.
Wherever available, scores in national examinations like GATE, CSIR/UGC-NET, DST INSPIRE etc. as well as International Examinations like GRE can be reported by the candidates, and can be used by the selection committee as an input. However, this will not be a requirement. But, requirement of qualifying JAM examination will be there for those candidates seeking admission to M.Sc. Programmes, who have passed their qualifying degree from one of the Universities/ Institutions in India.
All candidates will have to provide a statement/ self-declaration on their proficiency in English. In addition, scores in English language proficiency tests, such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, Cambridge English Examination, etc. can be reported by the candidate as a an input.
Two recommendation letters will be required from each candidate. Referees will be asked to comment on overall aptitude, proficiency in chosen field, potential for research and independent thinking and proficiency in oral and written English.
On shortlisting, all candidates will have to go through an interview via videoconferencing, and where possible, a face-to-face interview. This will be conducted by the individual DRCs/Selection Committees.
500 Fellowships will be available under Institution of Eminence (IoE) for foreign Ph.D. Research Scholars at the same rate that of Indian Ph.D. Research Scholars. Also, the fee of the foreign students admitted to PG and PhD programmes will be at par with the Indian Students.
